In Les Mis, I have learned that the bishop has many names how they call him like M. Myriel or Monseigneur Bienvenu. He is what part 1 is all about because the author wants us to know who he is and is probably an important person in this story. Monseigneur Bienvenu was a Bishop of D---- who was about the age of 75 years old. Everyone in the town knows that he was an elegant, graceful, intelligent person. Who is always with this sister and his severe, Mademoiselle Baptistine
and Madame Magloire.
M. Myriel has always been the type of person to trust that everything will be fine. He never has locks on his doors because he wants people to know that he's there to help and he wants people to come into his home because its there home too. He believes everyone is good even when it doesn't seem like it. Like when he went to a town where they were stealing and everyone told him to not go but he had to. When he was over at the other town they didn't steal from him they actually gave him all of the treasures they had. All of the things that he has done have been good like when he gets money for himself he gives it all away to the poor, to the hospitals, to women, to schools, to everyone that needs it.
