Young Goodman Brown His whole life was about him being a good man as his name would imply. He believed that everyone around him was also good just like him but when he went on a walk into the woods he meets the devil. The delve shows him how people really are just like with the church and how they would make deals with the devil.

Hawthorne really wanted to use a good theme about how we might not belive people are bad even if they are. He did that by showing how even the person you thought was the best like he thought of Faith could turn out to be as bad as the delive himself.






He also showed how us cgaratisices to talk about the characters.
 

My Thesis Statement

The main point of my essay is do we really know the people around us or do we just believe what we want to believe them?

Young Old Good Bad

I believe that Hawthorne wrote the story of "Young Goodman Brown" to show us that even if we believe that we know the people around us they can change in a second. I think Stephen King was affected by the story because maybe he had a similier experience like someone not being what he thought they were. The power of our imagination can make us believe what we want it to believe like how he believed that the devil was talking to him in the woods but it was just a dream or like when we believe people and imagine them as good when they really are bad.

Literature Analysis

The story i decided to read was Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon. This story is a love story between Olly and Maddy. Maddy's whole life was being stuck indoors away from the outside world. The reason for this is that she was born with a rare disease which makes her allergic to the world around her. Since she could remember it was always her and her mom since her dad and older brother died when she was born in a car crash. So when a new neighbor moved in next store she couldn't stop her self from wondering who he is. That when they start to talk every day and starting to get to know each other though the phone but she still wanted to meet him. She thought she wouldn't be able to until her nurse Carla helped her meet him face to face.
