Gatsby chapter 8

Gatsby tells Nick that nothing happened and about 4 am she came to the window and the turned off the lights
Gatsby says that 
Nick told him that he should leave before but he can't leave Daisy
Gatsby and Daisy left each other but making love but he let her believe that he was like her but wasn't
He felt like he had fallen in love 
before he left for the war they just spent time with each other like they were never going to be together again.
he was supose to go todaisy but he ended up in Oxford
Wilson finally relizd that she was having an afear

Gatsby Chapter 7

Gatsby wasn't seen or lighting up the house light at the moment that people started to get the curiosity of who he was
Preoccupied with his love for Daisy, Gatsby calls off his parties, which were primarily a means to lure Daisy
He fires his servants to prevent gossip
When the nurse brings in Daisy’s baby girl, Gatsby is stunned and can hardly believe that the child is real
Gatsby and Daisy cannot hide their love for one another
Tom, Jorden, and Nick all go to New York in one car and Gatsby and Dasiy in another
Stopping for gas at Wilson’s garage
  • Nick, Tom, and Jordan learn that Wilson has discovered his wife’s infidelity—though not the identity of her lover—and plans to move her to the West
Someone has been fatally hit by an automobile
  • Michaelis, a Greek man who runs the restaurant next to Wilson’s garage, tells them that Myrtle was the victim.
  • a car coming from New York City struck her, paused, then sped away.
  • Nick realizes that Myrtle must have been hit by Gatsby and Daisy, driving back from the city in Gatsby’s big yellow automobile. Tom thinks that Wilson will remember the yellow car from that afternoon. He also assumes that Gatsby was the driver.
  • Gatsby tells Nick that Daisy was driving when the car struck Myrtle, but that he himself will take the blame. 
  • Still worried about Daisy, Gatsby sends Nick to check on her. Nick finds Tom and Daisy eating cold fried chicken and talking. They have reconciled their differences, and Nick leaves Gatsby standing alone in the moonlight.

At the party, Gatsby invited Mrs. and Mr. Buchanan just to see what would tom do
Tom was trying to figure out who gatsby was
he thought he was a bootlegger and didn't like him that much

Gatsby gave nick a chance to have a job with gatsby so that nick could have more money
nick told daisy to not bring tom for the tea
Gatsby seems to just want to see daisy and he was so nerves
The rain in the story makes the mood sad
serfs are the poor people
daisy was crying and nick didn't understand
gatsby was so happy and was glowing 
he was in the war and lost most of his money in the war
he was in the drug business and oil companies
Gatsby looked at the house the way he thought daisy would love t the most
She was crying about shits but she was probably thinking about gatsby and what her life could have been
Nick wanted to see gatsby happy that he left them there in the house of gatsby
Gatsby had thought of her so much and what she would do that at the end it wasn't what he expected

Nicks cardinal virtue

Nick's cardinal virtue was that he was the only honest person he ever knew. 
this can either be seen as humble or arrogant. I believe that he wasn't saying it to be arrogant but as a joke, because of everyone in the story is horrable people

GATSBY CHAPTER 3

Two girls talked to Nick about Gatsby and his rumors. One of the rumors was "they thought he killed a man once" they also believed that "he was in the American army during the war.’

Gatsby was so mystery because nobody knew what was true about him.

Nick called the man in Gatsby's library as owl eyes and Valasco.

Valasco means an actor or fake.

Nick initially imagines Gatsby to look like a florid and corpulent person in his middle years, rosy and husky
imposing means to intimidating 

Nick find out that Jordan left a borrowed car out in the rain with the top down and lied about it and she is dishonest.

The next day Nick and Gatsby plan to go on the hydroplane at nine o’clock in the morning.

At the end of the chapter, we learn that Nick's cardinal virtue is," I am one of the few honest people that I have ever known."

cardinal sin means a big deal

is ironic that he's saying this

the author was foreshadowing how he used violently was to show something was going to happen which did with the nose broken by toms fist
